Michael Menes and Peter Davison will co-teach a 4-Day Juggling Intensive Workshop titled "The Art of Juggling" at the Boulder Circus Center June 15th to June 18th, 2009 as a lead-up to the Boulder Juggling Festival taking place on June 19th to 21st.
The 4-Day course will have morning and afternoon sessions along with evening "scene studies" in the beautiful training studios of the Boulder Circus Center.
The workshop is designed to train the body (with objects) to develop the ability to "speak" visually, universally, and clearly to and to an audience with a wide range of emotions - including comical, lyrical, and dramatic along with exploring new material. This work will be applied to the choreography and material of each student.
Exercises will include warmup, movement exercises, isolation work, alignment and posture, extension and flexibility, endurance and strength, rhythm, character, improvisation and various creative exercises designed to inspire new work.
The workshop fee is $325*. If students register before May 1st, they will receive a $25 discount.
