What is Convergence?
Convergence Acro Festival is a celebration of acrobatic movement: Partner Acrobatics, AcroYoga, Cheerleading, Handbalancing, Tumbling, & more! Featuring teachers from over 14 cities across the south-eastern Great Lakes area and beyond, it is an opportunity for different movement communities to converge, connect, and discover what’s possible through the sharing of skills & smiles.
Who is this Festival for?
Movers of all shapes, sizes, and experience levels welcome! This festival is for total beginners to advanced practitioners. Multiple workshops with different skill level requirements (prerequisites) will be offered simultaneously to accommodate the diversity of skill, interest, and experience. It is a safe and inclusive event for all respectful human beings.
What's New from Last Year?
1) A Day-Long Intensive on Friday, June 14th with Blox Acrobatics and Christine Moonbeam! Check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/events/340092606625018/
2) A Friday night Jam open to EVERYONE registered for any part of the festival!
3) Main Festival schedule has been adjusted to make space for MORE ACRO!
Schedule
Each session will include multiple workshop offerings, as well as a free-training area called 'Rebel Island'. A longe/spotting belt will be available for approved users.
Additional Information
No Partner Required: Part of the magic of Acro is that we train it as a community. Groups will consist of 3 or more to ensure a base, flyer, and spotter. Groups often change throughout a workshop session so you'll make many new friends to climb on.
Children: Although the Acro scene is mostly populated by adults, children are welcome at this event provided anyone under the age of 16 is accompanied by a supervising adult.
Parking: There is lots of parking at the gym. Please consider carpooling, public transportation, or human-powered means of arrival.
Food: Petojo Food & Catering will be selling delicious and nutritious food during the event. If you prefer to venture out, the gym is a 15-20 minute walk to several food options including restaurants and grocery stores. Downtown is a short drive.
Accommodation: Crash with a local, stay in an Airbnb, grab a hotel.
What should I bring?: 1. Anyone else you think might enjoy this event! (No partner required) 2. Comfortable clothes for movement, ideally not loose/baggy. 3. A water bottle. 4. You do NOT need to bring a yoga mat.
There is an 'unofficial' camping event happening for attendees of the festival! Please fill out the Google Form to be contacted for booking details.
