Bungay Balls Up - visit to Orford Ness.
For many years I’ve been thinking about visiting Orford Ness (about half an hour from Bungay).
It’s a natural spit, which is an SSSI nature reserve due to bird breeding grounds, but also has an extensive war time history as much of the UK secret weapons development (including radar and the atomic bomb) was squirrelled away there.
For weekend public visits it costs £14 for the ferry and entrance, and the red walking route (that takes in the publicly accessible war time buildings) is about a 5 mile round trip.
If we had 12-24 people interested, they do private tour groups on weekdays. I believe that would be a guided tour, and on request can take in areas of the war time structures not normally open to the public. I've emailed them to ask for availability and cost.

We're now looking at possibly booking a private guided walking tour on the afternoon of Wed 21 May.
Cost for ferry, entrance, and tour guide would be £29.50 each (or £20 for National Trust members).
I'm just collating who definitely wants to come to make sure we reach the minimum party size of 12 people (I think we should reach that easily, but I just need the confirmations).
Let me know if you'd like to be added to the list.
